Hi Coach Rob

I have been boxing for a few weeks now and am really enjoying it ... what can I do both in the gym and on my own time to help me build a solid foundation as a boxer? I guess since I am starting from scratch I want to make sure that I focus on the most important things first and not get myself sidetracked by focusing on things that I should really be worrying about after I have more experience.

Footwork and punching stance Mike, remember, boxing starts from the ground up and having solid punching stance along with fluent footwork will give you that foundation you seek.

Perform the box drill in front of the mirror, the box drill is in the footwork department here, and study the other footwork movements I have in that department, they may seem simple, but they will give you the coordination, balance, and confidense you seek.
