I was wondering if the Tornado Ball drill would work to increase the strength of my hip rotation for Muay Thai kicks?

Danny, The tornado ball is a plyometric exercises to increase power. To increase strength you need to lift maximal weights performing 1-6 reps.

Strengthening your legs and core will increase power. Perform squat variations, lunges, posterior chain exercises like GHR, reverse hyper, Romanian dead lifts, pull throughs, etc. Strengthen your core with front and side planks, land mines, reverse wd chops, weighted reverse crunches, etc..

By increasing flexibility/mobility and strength, you'll increase power.

The tornado ball is a good tool for core/hip rotational power.
